The prey of Coyotes
As an opportunist with a wide range of food habits, coyotes are willing to eat almost every animal they can kill, ranging from birds and voles to deer and pronghorn antelopes that are heavier than coyotes themselves. Coyotes do not mind turning garbage cans in human settlements to find food resources. This eating willingness is also one of the reasons why coyotes are far more successful than jackals and African wild dogs in the Old World.
