Macaca fuscata, also known as snow monkey, is a kind of macaque living in northern Japan. It is also the northernmost non-human primate living in the world (the northernmost reaching the Lower Northern Peninsula in the northern part of Qingsen County, Honshu).
Although Japanese macaques grow in cold regions, they have no dense body hair, but tend to have short, thin body hair in warm regions. However, the hairs of young animals are relatively dense, and the density of hairs decreases when they grow up. Back hair...full text
